A mother was arrested on charges of hiding items she had shoplifted in her baby carrier, the Laurel County sheriff said.
Kortney Caldwell, 18, of Keavy, was arrested Monday night at the Wal-Mart near Corbin in southern Laurel County.
The sheriff's department said Caldwell had been seen concealing merchandise in her baby carrier, which also had a 1-month-old baby in it.
Caldwell, who also had her 1-year-old son with her at the store, was charged with theft by unlawful taking — shoplifting, and endangering the welfare of a minor. She was taken to the Laurel County Detention Center.
