A Harlan County man has been charged with rape and other crimes after a 19-year-old woman was attacked, Kentucky State Police said.
Kenneth L. Keith, 35, of Cumberland, was arrested about 5 p.m. Monday following an investigation, according to the Harlan KSP post.
Troopers said they began the inquiry Sunday night after receiving Harlan hospital information suggesting that a woman had been raped.
Keith allegedly took the victim to a camper at Cranks Creek Lake in Harlan County and physically and sexually assaulted her in the early morning hours on Sunday, police said.
He is charged with two counts of first-degree rape involving serious physical injury, first-degree sodomy, kidnapping, and unlawful transaction with a minor, police said.
Keith was lodged in the Harlan County jail.
An investigation is continuing, according to state police.
