Knott County's former Water and Sewer District manager admitted Thursday to misusing an agency credit card.
Reva Campbell, 67, of Hazard, pleaded guilty to one county of theft by deception over $10,000 at arraignment in Knott Circuit Court, according to the state attorney general's office, which is handling prosecution of the case. She must make restitution and serve five years of probation.
The attorney general's office began investigating in 2013 after an audit found possible forged financial documents. The investigation resulted in allegations that Campbell allowed about $85,000 in questionable charges to be made on her agency credit card, the attorney general's office said.
Formal sentencing is set for Oct. 21.
