Lexington police were searching for three men who robbed another man at gunpoint on East Maxwell Street Monday night.
Lexington police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said the man was skateboarding in the 200 block of East Maxwell about 11 p.m. when three men left the porch of a house, stopped him and took his cell phone.
The man told police he was struck in the face with a handgun during the incident, she said. He then ran to the nearby University of Kentucky Police headquarters to seek help.
The three men were last seen running behind the house, Roberts said.
