A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for later this month in the case of a Lexington man who is charged with being a fugitive from justice in St. Augustine, Fla.
Grant Arthur Lyon Bertram, 39, was arrested Friday by Lexington police on a charged of being a fugitive from another state.
An arrest warrant from St. Johns County, Fla., said Bertram traveled from Kentucky to Florida to engage in "unlawful sexual conduct with" a girl between ages 12 and 16. The warrant says he used an online service to "seduce, solicit, lure or entice" the child and to engage in "lewd and lascivious battery."
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 24 in Fayette District Court. At that time, a judge will hear evidence on whether there is probable cause that the offense occurred.
Bertram was not listed as an inmate Tuesday in the Fayette County jail.
