One man died and two others were injured Sunday when an SUV went out of control on a Rowan County road, Kentucky State Police said.
Eric Gallagher was pronounced dead at the scene on Ky. 32 by Rowan County Coroner John Northcutt, master trooper Joe Veeneman, spokesman of the Morehead post, said in a news release.
Two passengers, Jason Hall and Jarvis Dehart, were taken to St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead and treated for injuries that were not life-threatening. Both were charged with public intoxication, first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, Veeneman said.
Gallagher was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer east of Morehead at high speed when he lost control of the SUV in a curve; it went off the left side of the highway, and flipped several times before coming to rest.
