A call to police about a man with a gun outside a Lexington strip club ended with a fiery crash early Saturday.
Lexington police Lt. Jesse Harris said police were called to Diamonds Gentlemen's Club on Winchester Road at 2:06 a.m. about "a man with a gun" outside the club.
When police arrived, they were told that the Mercury Grand Marquis had already left.
The driver sped down Hillcrest Avenue and crashed.
As an officer arrived, the vehicle caught fire, and a man in the back seat "had to be pulled to safety," Harris said.
The man was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
No one else was in the car at that point, although police had been told that more than one occupant was inside when it left the club, Harris said.
