Lexington police are investigating a Friday morning hit-and-run that injured a a sanitation worker.
The incident happened at about 8 a.m. as the worker was picking up garbage on Mount McKinley Way and was struck by a car that drove off, said Lexington police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts.
The worker, whose name was not released, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a leg injury that was not life threatening, Roberts said.
The car was described as a gold Chevy Malibu or Toyota. An unoccupied car later found parked on Mount McKinley was taken into custody "for further investigation" by police, Roberts said. Mount McKinley is near Man o' War Boulevard, between Alumni Drive and Armstrong Mill Road.

No arrest had been made as of late Friday afternoon, she said.
