Kentucky State Police and authorities in Fayette County continue to investigate the deaths of Ellen C. Townsend and Ricky Conrad, but they said there is little new to report.
"If evidence leads us toward someone else, we will follow it," trooper Robert Purdy, public information officer with the Richmond state police post, said Monday.
Townsend, 29, was found shot to death Saturday morning beside a rural road in Estill County. Conrad, 44, was found dead Sunday morning inside his silver Chrysler sedan, which was parked at St. Joseph East on North Eagle Creek Drive in Lexington.
Personal property belonging to Townsend was found inside Conrad's car, along with a firearm, Purdy said.
According to authorities, Conrad and Townsend had dated in the past, and Townsed was last seen alive in Conrad's car. Both were from Irvine.
Purdy said state police are working with Lexington police and the Fayette County coroner's office in the investigation.
