A murder charge against Lexington's Matthew Patrick Donaghy, who is accused of stabbing his boyfriend, will go to a Fayette County grand jury.
Donaghy's attorney waived the case to the grand jury during a brief hearing in Fayette District Court Wednesday morning.
District Judge T. Bruce Bell set a $500,000 full-cash bond for the defendant.
Buckles has requested a mental health evaluation for Donaghy, but Bell said that issue should be handled in Fayette Circuit Court once the case gets there.

Donaghy, 20, is charged in the stabbing death of Todd Schumacher at a residence on Lamont Drive on the evening of Jan. 18.
Police later identified Schumacher, 40, as Donaghy's boyfriend. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The case was Lexington's first homicide of 2015.
