A Lexington mother pleaded not guilty Friday afternoon to second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor after police said she bought marijuana for two juveniles and allowed them to smoke it.
According to documents filed in district court, Sheri Jean Humston admitted that she picked up a 13-year-old juvenile last Friday in front of Bryan Station Middle School and bought the juvenile marijuana. Humston, 35, also had her daughter in the car and allowed both juveniles to smoke the marijuana before dropping them back off to school; she forged a parent's signature for the 13-year-old to get the juvenile back into school, the documents said.
Humston was being held in the Fayette County jail on a $1,000 bail. If released, she is not allowed to have contact with the juvenile.
