A woman was stabbed, apparently at random, in Lexington early Tuesday morning, police said.
The victim was walking with her boyfriend along Bryan Station Road near New Circle Road when a man pulled up in a Jeep SUV, got out and stabbed her “for no apparent reason,” police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.
It happened about 1 a.m.
According to Roberts, the woman was wounded twice in the shoulder area. She then ran to a nearby White Castle restaurant to seek help, while her boyfriend tried to chase the suspect, Roberts said.
Police said the victim’s injuries did not appear to be serious.
