A Lexington woman pleaded not guilty in district court on Tuesday after police said she tried to strangle another woman with a bra.
Ashley Sies, 31, is charged with first-degree burglary, accused of pushing into a home in the 1600 block of Harrogate Road at 3:30 a.m. Monday, police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.
A woman at the address told officers she didn't know Sies, who pushed her, pulled her hair and tried to strangle her with the bra, Roberts said.
The victim told police that she locked herself in a bathroom to get away from the attacker.
Sies was still at the house when officers arrived, and she answered the door when they knocked, according to a police report. She was speaking incoherently, police said.
Sies was taken to a hospital because she apparently had taken an unknown narcotic, police said.
Sies was being held in the Fayette county jail on a $10,000 bond. She's scheduled to appear in court April 6.
