A woman escaped injury Tuesday morning when she lost control of her car while make a U-turn in Lexington and drove into a house, authorities said.
No one in the house was hurt, according to Major C.J. Tackett of the Lexington fire department.
The woman was headed outbound on Easthills Drive about 10:20 a.m. when she attempted the U-turn and lost control of her gray Hyundai Accent, Tackett said. The car knocked down a mailbox on the right side of the road, crossed the street, ran off the left side of the road and traveled up a small rise to crash into a window in the front of the wood-over-brick home in the 2900 block of Easthills Drive.
Firefighters shored up the window area as a precaution before a tow truck pulled the car away. The front of the vehicle was extensively damaged.
The house did not appear to have significant structural damage, Tackett said.
