A Lexington woman was struck in the face by flying drywall when someone fired a shot into her home Tuesday night, police said.
Officers found a bullet hole in a front window of the home in the 2000 block of Winterberry Drive, police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said. The woman told police that she heard a loud noise about 10:40 p.m. and was struck in the face by drywall that flew off a wall of the house.
She suffered a minor scratch on her face, Roberts said.
The woman didn't know why someone would shoot into her home, according to police reports.

A neighbor later told investigating officers that he saw a shot fired during verbal confrontation between two men and the occupants of a green Jeep Laredo, Roberts said.
The Jeep drove away and the two men also left.
About 30 minutes later, police found and questioned two men who were found hiding in a yard on Old Nassau Road, Roberts said. One of the men told police that he lives on Winterberry Drive and that a known acquaintance might have fired into the house.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation continues, police said.
