A Lexington man was indicted Monday in the slaying of a woman in November.
Martaveus Lee Bell Jr. is charged with murder in the Nov. 28 shooting death of Stacie Lillie, 51, who was found lying in the road on East Seventh Street with a gunshot wound to her stomach. She died at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital. Lillie was the city's 17th homicide victim in 2014.
According to circuit court documents, Bell, 20, was identified by a witness by his nickname "Tay." The witness later picked Bell out of a six-person photo lineup as the person who shot and killed Lillie.
Bell was being held in the Fayette County jail without bail. He's scheduled to appear in court April 23.
