Two people were found dead about 6 p.m. Saturday after a fire in a building that contained a meth lab on Danville Road in Mercer County, Kentucky State Police said Sunday.
Mercer County Coroner C. David "Sonny" Ransdell identified the victims as Douglas Carter, 50, and Carol F. Anderson, in her mid-40s. Both were from Harrodsburg, he said.
Police said the building formerly housed Chubby's Auto Sales, and calls about smoke from it had been reported in recent weeks.
Firefighters said the fire was in one room.
The causes of the fire and deaths were not immediately known. Autopsies were conducted Sunday, Ransdell said, but he had not received results as of Sunday night.
State police ask that anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area or with any information call (859) 623-2404 or 1-800-222-5555.
