Lexington police are looking for four people after a home invasion early Tuesday at a residence where the same thing happened in January.
Officers were called to the 1800 block of Old Paris Road at 3:45 a.m. after four men armed with pistols kicked in the front door of the home and demanded money, said Sherelle Roberts, police spokeswoman.
The homeowner was hit in the forehead with a pistol after he told the men he didn't have any money.
The men began searching the house, but quickly became nervous after an alarm went off, she said.
Never miss a local story.
The men ran off with the owner's shotgun and fired a few shots as they ran.
The homeowner, whose name was not released, grabbed a pistol and shot at the men.
Roberts said the men fled on foot south toward New Circle Road.
Police were called to the same home in January after a man knocked on the front door and forced his way inside.
The man tied up the home's occupants at gunpoint, then fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
Charles L. Reeves was charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary and first-degree unlawful imprisonment in the Jan. 20 incident. He pleaded not guilty in March, according to Fayette Circuit Court records.
Anyone with information about Tuesday's home invasion is asked to call Lexington police at (859) 258-3600.
