An 18-year-old has been charged with first-degree burglary and seven counts of kidnapping of an adult in connection with a break-in last Sunday.
Saquan S. Freeman of Lexington was arrested Friday.
According to a police citation, Freeman was "armed with a deadly weapon" and assisted "in inflicting bodily injury to two victims and assisted in terrorizing other victims" when he and several others broke into a home on the 100 block of Suburban Court at about 3 a.m. May 10.
Police said two men sustained minor injuries after being hit in the head when four men with guns forced their way into the home, which is off Nicholasville Road near the University of Kentucky campus.
The occupants said the intruders demanded money, then left with electronics, including cellphones, an Xbox and a television, police said.
Freeman was charged with kidnapping because he helped "unlawfully restrain seven people" during the burglary, according to the citation filed in Fayette District Court.
Someone who knows Freeman named him as a suspect and described clothing he was wearing. Clothing matching the description was found in his house during the execution of a search warrant, the citation states.
Freeman is scheduled to be arraigned at 1 p.m. Monday.
