Timothy Day, who escaped from Blackburn prison in March, was returned to Lexington Monday afternoon, according to authorities.
Louisville Metro police caught Day in the 10400 block of Villa Drive in southwest Jefferson County. He was held at Jefferson County jail until his return to Lexington.
Day was booked at the Fayette County jail at 12:39 p.m., Sgt. Adam Moss, a training coordinator at the jail, said. Day is now being charged with escape, Moss said.
At the time of his escape, Day was serving a 15-year sentence for two burglary convictions, officials said. He would have been eligible for parole in May 2017.
