A Kentucky State Police officer shot and wounded a man Thursday in Pike County after the man shot at police, according to a news release.
Troopers had gone to a house in the Wolfpit community to investigate a report of shots being fired. As they approached the house, Donald K. May began shooting at officers, state police said in the release.
A trooper fired back and hit May. May was taken to Pikeville Medical Center for treatment and then jailed after he was released.
May, 53, was charged with four counts of attempted murder of a police officer.
