A Crittenden man who was shot June 15 by a Grant County deputy was released Monday from the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and is being held in the Grant County jail, Kentucky State Police said.
Police charged Shane D. Propes, 22, with attempted murder of a police officer and first-degree wanton endangerment state police Trooper David Jones said.
A Grant County deputy and a state trooper went to Indian Hills Drive near Crittenden on June 15 after receiving a call about a suspicious man possibly carrying a gun.
Propes ran after the deputy made contact with him, police said. He began shooting at the deputy, who shot back. At least one shot hit Propes.
