One man was killed and a district judge was injured in a two-car crash late Monday in Perry County, according to Kentucky State Police.
Kevin Fugate, 40, of Hazard was driving south on Combs Road in a 1997 Toyota Camry when the car crossed into the northbound lane and collided with an oncoming car, according to police.
The driver of the other car, a 2011 Toyota Versa, was Perry District Judge Leigh Anne Stephens, 55, police said.
The crash killed Fugate. A passenger in his car, Della Friley, 42, of Viper, was flown to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital.

State police said Friley was listed in critical condition. Fugate and Friley were not wearing seat belts, police said.
Police said Stephens and her passenger, Stephen Wireman, 53, of Ridgecrest, Calif., were admitted to Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Both were wearing seat belts, police said.
Alcohol use by Fugate is thought to have been a contributing factor in the wreck, state police said.
