The Wayne County coroner's office has released the name of the 18-year-old Lexington man who drowned in Lake Cumberland Saturday afternoon.
Carl Thomas White Jr. of Lexington was swimming across the cove in the Cumberland Point area when he either became fatigued or succumbed to rough waters, according to the coroner's office. White was camping in the area with his family.
Deputy Coroner Anthony Vaughn responded to the call made at 1:36 p.m. Saturday and pronounced White dead about 2:20 p.m.
The Wayne County and Pulaski County Rescue Squads recovered White's body.
