Three people have been charged with murder and robbery in connection with the death of Darnell Bates last fall.
Charles B. Patton III, 22, and Caitlyn Conway, 22, are being held on charges of murder and first-degree robbery, police spokeswoman Sgt. Ann Welch said.
She said police arrested Conway on Tuesday afternoon, and Patton was already in custody on unrelated charges.
Police have obtained murder and robbery warrants for the arrest of Demarcus Harris, 22, and are still looking for him, Welch said.
Police went to Bates' home on Addie Street, between Fourth and Fifth streets, just before 5 a.m. Oct. 5 in response to a call about a burglary in progress. When officers arrived, they found Bates, 36, shot in the stomach.
Police said at the time that two men had forced their way into the house.
Bates had recently been promoted to general manager of Goo Goo Car Wash on North Limestone Street after working there for several years.
