A man was hit by a car intentionally Wednesday night after arguing with a woman, Lexington police said. The man was taken to a hospital, and police were searching for the driver.
Lt. Tommy Perkins said police were called shortly before 9 p.m. to the 1500 block of Eastland Parkway after someone reported gunshots. Police determined that no one was shot, but that a man had been hit by a vehicle.
Perkins said the man was struck immediately after an argument with a woman. It wasn't clear what they were arguing about, he said. The relationships of the victim, the woman and the driver of the vehicle also was unclear, Perkins said.
The man was alert and speaking as he was taken to the hospital. His condition was unknown, Perkins said.
Investigators recovered at least one bullet casing, but one was shot, Perkins said.
Police were looking for a dark four-door sedan with a possible flat right tire. There were no descriptions of the suspects.
The driver of the vehicle will be charged with assault, Perkins said.
