A Paintsville man was charged this week with various child-exploitation charges, Kentucky State Police said in a release.
Ryan P. Cooper, 37, was charged Wednesday with two counts of promoting a minor under 16 in a sex performance and two counts of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor, police said.
Cooper was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after detectives discovered the suspect sharing images of child sexual exploitation online. The images included a nude infant.
Police executed a search warrant at Cooper's residence and seized equipment used to facilitate the offenses. The equipment was taken to KSP's forensic laboratory for examination.
Cooper remained Friday in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville.
