Kentucky State Police have identified the victim in last week's Breathitt County house fire as Troy Neace, 90, of South Fork.
First-responders were called to the house fire Nov. 5 on Big Branch South Fork Road. The house was engulfed in flames.
Patricia Stewart told investigators that she and Neace, her father, lived at the house and that she was awakened by the fire about 5:15 a.m., state police said in a news release. Stewart said she woke her father to get him out, and she thought he had followed her out, but once she got outside, she realized that he wasn't with her.
Stewart was treated for smoke inhalation at Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson.

During a search later in the day, human remains were discovered. The remains were sent to the state medical examiner's office in Frankfort for identification.
