The murder trial of a man accused in the 2015 stabbing death of his boyfriend began Monday with the selection of a jury.
Matthew Patrick Donaghy is accused of killing Todd Schumacher at a house on Lamont Drive on Jan. 18, 2015, according to court documents.
Several months before Shumacher’s death, Donaghy was charged with mistreatment of an animal for allegedly putting Shumacher’s dog into a hot oven, according to court documents. The dog survived but suffered multiple burns.
The trial is expected to last four days.
