A man died Saturday after leaping off the overpass at Georgetown and New Circle roads in Lexington.
Witnesses told police that the man was hit by a car before he hit the roadway. Officer Andrew Daugherty said no other details were immediately available.
Daugherty said police received reports that a man dressed only in a striped shirt and underwear was at the bus stop about 200 yards from the overpass. The man was acting strangely, Daugherty said, and had an infant and a toddler in his care. Concerned about the children, two people stopped to talk to the man. Daugherty said the passersby were holding the children when the man jumped.
The Fayette County Coroner’s Office identified the man as Lottreill Ratliff, 29.
