Police say they have thwarted a crime ring behind more than 100 larcenies in Franklin County and 100 in Anderson County.
Justin Hendershot and James McDonald have each been indicted with felony receiving stolen property in value exceeding $500. Hendershot turned himself in to police Tuesday. Police are still searching for McDonald. Two juveniles were also arrested and charged with receiving stolen property, Sheriff Pat Melton said.
The items, which were stolen from cars, included fishing equipment, hunting equipment, lawn equipment, weapons and tools, police said.
Because of the sheer number of items recovered, police have asked people to contact the sheriff’s department if they are missing anything in the categories listed.
Never miss a local story.
