The Fayette County bus driver involved in an accident Tuesday during the rush-hour commute has been reassigned to other duties while district officials investigate, transportation director Marcus Dobbs said.
No students were injured Tuesday morning when a car collided with the bus on Man o’ War Boulevard at Old Higbee Mill Road.
The bus pulled out from Old Higbee Mill Road into the path of the car, Lexington police Lt. Jeremy Tuttle said. One passenger in the car was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
“We are still investigating the matter,” Dobbs said Tuesday night. “Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken once our investigation is complete.”

The students were being taken to Beaumont Middle School, district spokeswoman Lisa Deffendall said. After the accident, a second bus took the students to school.
