More than four years after state officials began investigating the Mason County School District's financial dealings, former Superintendent Tim Moore had his day in court Tuesday. Moore stood before Judge Stockton B. Wood in a subdued courtroom and pleaded guilty to one reduced charge of theft by deception more than $500, a Class B felony.
He also agreed to pay $25,000 in restitution to the Mason County School District. Moore was originally indicted in May 2014, on allegations of abuse of public trust $10,000 but less than $100,000 related to the findings of a special audit of the Mason County School District released in October 2012 by Kentucky Auditor of Public Accounts Adam Edelen.
