Forbes Magazine ranked Centre College in Danville the 14th best college in the country in its annual list of top schools.
The independent liberal arts college, which was 13th on Forbes' 2008 list, remained in the elite class with schools, such as Princeton University (No. 2), Harvard University (No. 5) and Stanford University (No. 10). The magazine named the U.S. Military Academy as America's top college.
Forbes takes into consideration a host of factors, including student satisfaction, graduation rates, graduate success in landing jobs, student debt levels and academic and research awards.
Aside from military academies, Centre was the most affordable college in Forbes' top 30 schools, with an annual cost of $39,200.
