The Kentucky Community and Technical College System Board of Regents on Friday approved a 3.7 percent increase in tuition for in-state students.
The in-state tuition rates for the 2012-13 academic year will increase from $135 per credit hour to $140. Out-of-state tuition rates will be $280 per credit hour for students from counties bordering Kentucky and $490 for all other out-of-state students.
The rates are consistent with parameters established by the state Council for Postsecondary Education, according to a press release.
"Our statewide system of 16 colleges and 68 campuses continues to be the best postsecondary education value in the state," board chairman P.G. Peeples said.

The board's $921 million budget also includes a 2.5 percent salary increase for all full-time faculty and staff who have "met or exceeded their job requirements" on performance evaluations.
