A Kentucky Board of Education member has been named associate executive director of the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence.
Brigitte Blom Ramsey succeeds Cynthia Heine, who is retiring after 31 years with the Prichard Committee, a nonprofit advocacy group aimed at improving Kentucky's schools.
Ramsey, who lives in Falmouth, has been director of strategic resources and public policy of the United Way of Greater Cincinnati since 2011. She is a member of Kentucky's Early Childhood Advisory Council and co-chairs the Northern Kentucky Education Action Team.
Ramsey will resign from the state education board when she assumes the Prichard Committee post May 1.
