Leaf pickup begins next week in Lexington

STAFF, WIRE REPORTS

Leaf collection for residents of Fayette County who are in the Urban Services Area will begin on Nov. 9. To find out when the leaf collection crew will be working in various neighborhoods, visit the LFUCG Web site at www.lexingtonky.gov/leaves or call LexCall at 311 or 425-2255 or the Division of Parks & Recreation at 425-2801.

Residents will need to rake their leaves into piles in the service area between the sidewalk and the street. This will need to be done the Sunday before your scheduled collection week. Piles should contain only leaves since other objects such as rocks and tree limbs could injure crew members or damage the equipment. All collected leaves, along with other yard waste, are composted to make mulch that is given away on a quarterly basis.
