Chef Danny Serfer can't remember the first time he cooked a meal or the best dish he's ever tasted — but he can remember the first time he did drugs. Serfer is a recovering alcoholic and drug addict going on 10 years of recovery. He opened up and talked about the addiction that dominated his life and how he has turned it around to be the Miami-born owner of three beloved restaurants (Blue Collar and two Mignonette locations, including the newest in North Miami Beach). He's talking about his illness to raise awareness of the problem of people suffering with addiction in the food and drink industry.
