The body found in a Wayne County cave earlier this week has been identified as that of a man who had been missing since Memorial Day weekend.
Wayne County Coroner Forrest Hicks on Thursday confirmed that the body was that of Dustan Wade Lair, 32, of Monticello. He said the cause of death has still not been determined.
Lair’s body was found about 30 feet inside the entrance to the cave near the end of Trails End Road in Monticello by a man who had gone there to look for arrowheads Tuesday morning, Hicks said.
He said the Monticello Police Department is investigating.
