A Carroll County woman faces wanton endangerment and other charges after her 8-month-old child overdosed on methamphetamine.
In addition to a first-degree wanton endangerment charge, Summer Starks, 28, of Carrollton, was charged with first degree possession of controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia after child protective services was called to her home on Seminar Street at 5:19 p.m. Friday, said Kentucky State Police trooper Josh Lawson in a Monday news release.
The child, who had swallowed meth, was admitted to Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville and released Friday, Lawson said. A 10-year-old child was also removed from the home.
Starks is being held at the Carroll County Detention Center.
