FBI agents and Kentucky State Police officers reportedly searched fugitive disability lawyer Eric C. Conn’s office and his mother’s adjacent house Thursday afternoon.
Reporters at the scene said police went into the office and house, removed items and took numerous photos.
The FBI did not immediately respond to a question about what was going on, but issued a news release at 3:09 p.m. announcing a news conference at the agency’s Louisville headquarters Friday morning to provide updates on the effort to find and arrest Conn.
Conn was on home detention awaiting sentencing for his role in a massive conspiracy to defraud the Social Security Administration when he cut off an electronic monitoring device on his ankle June 2 and disappeared.
Conn pleaded guilty to submitting false medical information in clients’ claims for disability and to bribing a Social Security judge.
He faced up to 12 years in prison before absconding.
