A woman has been charged with murder after a body was found buried in a shallow grave in Pike County, according to Kentucky State Police.
The Mingo County Sheriff’s Office in West Virginia called Kentucky State Police on Wednesday and asked for help in finding a missing person, according to state police. State troopers, along with Mingo County sheriff’s deputies, then found the unidentified body buried off Turkey Creek Road in Pike County.
Jennifer Blankenship, 31, of Turkey Creek and Okey Hinkle, 28, of West Virginia were arrested on unrelated warrants near where the body was found, according to Kentucky State Police. Police said Blankenship was later charged with murder and Hinkle was charged with tampering with evidence.
The body has been sent to Frankfort for autopsy and identification, according to state police.
