A Kentucky man was arrested on Lake Cumberland over the weekend after allegedly leading authorities on a high-speed boat chase, according to media reports.
Kyle Matthews, 25, of Alpha in Clinton County, faces several charges, including operating a boat while intoxicated, operating a boat recklessly and eight counts of wanton endangerment, according to the Russell County jail website.
Officers with Kentucky Fish and Wildlife spotted Matthews operating his motor boat recklessly near the Jamestown Marina in Russell County and attempted to stop him, according to WKYT. Matthews then reportedly sped off, nearly hitting seven other boats and striking an officer’s boat.
Police arrested Matthews more than an hour after the pursuit began, according to WKYT.
