A 70-year-old man was killed Sunday morning and his son injured after their boat struck a rock embankment and the two were thrown from the boat.
Shortly before 8 a.m., the Wayne County's Coroner’s Office was notified of the accident in the Camp Earl Wallace area of Lake Cumberland, according to a press release from the Wayne County Coroner’s Office.
Donnie Flynn, of Pulaski County, died at the scene.
Flynn’s son, Derek Flynn, was taken to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, according to WKYT, the Herald-Leader’s reporting partner.

Derek Flynn is an officer with the Somerset Police Department. Flynn suffered pelvic fractures, said Capt. Mike Correll, a spokesman for the department.
Flynn was listed in fair condition Sunday evening at the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital.
Heavy fog at the time of the incident is thought to be a contributing factor. The father and son were participating in a fishing tournament.
