A candlelight vigil has been arranged in McKee for the slain 5-year-old boy whose body was found Monday.
James Spoonamore, kidnapped Friday with his mother, was found dead less than a mile from where his mother was rescued Saturday.
His mother, Jessica Durham, is recovering from multiple injuries at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital.
Lonnie Belt has been charged with murder in James’ death. Belt also has been charged with kidnapping an adult and a child, assault, and evidence tampering, according to police.
The vigil for James, described by his aunt Mary Batson as a lovable kid who was especially close to his mother, will be 8 p.m. Saturday at Bond Memorial Park.
There will be a donation booth at the vigil to help cover funeral costs.
A GoFundMe page has been started to pay for the James’ funeral.
