Three Whitley County family members were slain at their home on Wednesday, according to Sheriff Colan Harrell.
It appears the three were strangled, Harrell said.
Harrell said his office received a call at 4:52 p.m. about a possible suicide. A woman had found one body in a house on Deep Creek Road, Harrell said.
While deputies were on the way to the house, the woman found two more bodies outside, Harrell said.
WKYT reported that Kathy Faulkner, the mother of victim Emogene Bittner, found the bodies.
Faulkner said she found Bittner’s body inside and that the house was “destroyed.” Faulker later found the bodies of her son-in-law, Christopher Bittner, and her grandson, Robert Kennedy III.
“I hope they find who did this. My grandson had his whole life ahead of him. He never did nothing to no one. He was a good kid,” Faulkner told WYMT.
Harrell said his office has identified people of interest in the slayings.
