A woman was killed in a house fire early Monday in Boyle County, according to media reports.
The fire started just after 1 a.m. at a home on Old Hustonville Road, LEX 18 reported.
The victim was later identified as 64-year-old Gerri Compton, who was found inside a bedroom, WKYT said.
The fire chief told WKYT that Compton’s body was taken to Frankfort for an autopsy.

Officials believe the fire started in the basement and rose to the bedroom and into the attic, according to WKYT. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
Firefighters received a report that there might be a second person in the house, but they were unable to find any additional victims in three searches, according to WKYT.
