Two people are dead and another seriously injured in a Wednesday morning crash on Interstate 71 that police say was exacerbated by neglected seat belts.
Rebecca Horsley, 21, of Columbus was driving with two passengers northbound on I-71 in Carroll County just before 2 a.m., when her vehicle left the right side of the road and flipped over, according to a Kentucky State Police release.
Ashton Horsley, 19, of New Carlisle, Ohio, and Nikki Vicory, 29, of Lakeview, Ohio, were not wearing seat belts and were ejected from the car, police said. They were pronounced dead by the Carroll County coroner.
Rebecca Horsley was taken to University of Cincinnati Hospital in serious condition.
Police are still investigating the accident.
