A Casey County woman was found dead from a crash Wednesday, hours after her family filed a missing persons report when she didn’t return home from work.
Carla Monday, 54, of Liberty was westbound in a 2005 Saturn on Stoner Creek Road in Taylor County when the car went off the road over an embankment and struck several trees about 11:40 a.m. Tuesday, according to Kentucky State Police.
Monday worked at an Amazon shipping center in Campbellsville. She was on her way to her noon shift when the crash happened.
Monday’s family reported her missing Wednesday, leading investigators to retrace the route she normally took to work, police said. It was difficult to see the Saturn from the road, police said. Monday was found dead in the car.
Investigators are reviewing the crash.
