A slide of rocks and mud blocking all lanes of U.S. 23 in Floyd County is not expected to be cleared until at least sometime Friday, according to state police.
The slide is at Ivel, near the Davidson Memorial Cemetery.
It happened Wednesday evening when rain loosened rocks and dirt on the hillside above the busy road.
Police said up a detour on Ky. 1426 and advised people to allow extra time for travel.

Crews are working to clear the road, but it was not expected to reopen overnight Thursday, police said.
